Sydney, NSW, Australia — New South Wales (NSW) Police have made a significant development in the case of the disappearance of Luke Davies, 29, and Jesse Baird, 26, from Sydney. Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon has been charged with two counts of murder in connection with the case.
What We Know About the Case
Davies, a full-time flight attendant for Qantas Airways, and Baird, a presenter and red-carpet reporter for Australian media company Network 10, were last seen officially on Sunday evening in Paddington, prompting “grave concerns” from authorities after a substantial amount of blood was discovered at Mr. Baird’s residence in Paddington.
A series of events unfolded, leading to the arrest of Mr. Baird’s former partner, Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon. Police visited Mr. Baird’s home on Brown Street, where bloodied items belonging to him, and his partner were found in a Cronulla skip bin. Authorities allege that a white Toyota van, rented from a business in Mascot on Monday night, was used to transport the bodies. The van was later found in Grays Point, near the location where the bloodied clothes were initially discovered.
Furthermore, former colleagues of Mr. Baird received text messages from his phone on Tuesday evening, according to police. Detective Superintendent Doherty stated that whoever sent those messages would be included as part of the evidence presented in court.
Constable Lamarre-Condon voluntarily surrendered to Bondi police on Friday afternoon, although information provided by him did not directly aid the investigation. In a significant development, the search for the couple’s bodies led police to establish a new crime scene on Hazelton Road in Bungonia, two hours southwest of Sydney.
