We urge you to report any violations of our abuse policy below. We want to offer a safe and respectful community for everyone

At Queer Press, we are committed to creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for our readers, contributors, and staff. This policy outlines our stance against all forms of abuse and the measures we take to address such behavior.

This policy applies to all interactions associated with Queer Press, including but not limited to our online platforms, social media channels, events, and any other spaces where individuals engage with our content or representatives.

Unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or visual harassment of a sexual nature. This includes sending unsolicited explicit images, messages, or comments.

Posting hostile or insulting comments in online discussions or forums, often characterized by the use of profanity, name-calling, or offensive language.

Attempting to fraudulently acquire sensitive information by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in electronic communication. This can include attempts to gain passwords, credit card details, or other personal information.

Creating a fake profile or account on social media or other platforms to deceive others, often used to spread misinformation, harass, or defame the person being impersonated.

Predatory behavior where an adult establishes an emotional connection with a child to exploit them sexually. This can include sending messages, sharing images, or manipulating the child into sexual conversations or actions.

This involves repeated and intentional harassment, intimidation, or humiliation using digital platforms. It can include posting derogatory comments, spreading rumors, or sharing embarrassing photos or videos.

Deliberate posting of provocative, offensive, or inflammatory content with the intent to elicit strong emotional reactions, disrupt conversations, or upset people.

The use of derogatory language, slurs, or symbols to promote hostility or violence against individuals or groups based on attributes such as race, religion, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, disability, or gender.

The act of publicly revealing private or identifying information about an individual without their consent, often with malicious intent. This can include addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or other personal data.

Persistent and targeted abuse that can include threatening messages, stalking, and repeated unwanted contact. This can occur through social media, email, messaging apps, or other online platforms.

Deliberately sharing false or misleading information to deceive, manipulate public opinion, or obscure the truth.

Discriminatory actions that occur in digital environments, including exclusion from online groups, targeted negative comments, or refusal of service based on identity.

Communicating threats to harm an individual or group, which can create an environment of fear and intimidation.

Making false and harmful statements about someone online, which can damage their reputation and personal relationships

The use of the internet or other electronic means to stalk or harass an individual, a group, or an organization. This can include monitoring, identity theft, threats, vandalism, solicitation for sex, or gathering information to harass.

Reporting Abuse

We encourage anyone who experiences or witnesses abuse in connection with Queer Press to report it immediately. Reports can be made via email at [contact email], through our website, or directly to any staff member at events.

Response to Abuse

Upon receiving a report of abuse, we will:

Promptly Investigate: Take immediate steps to investigate the matter thoroughly and impartially.

Take Appropriate Action: Depending on the severity and nature of the abuse, actions may include removal of content, banning individuals from our platforms or events, and involving law enforcement when necessary.

Support Affected Individuals: Offer support and resources to those affected by abuse.

Confidentiality

All reports of abuse will be handled with sensitivity and confidentiality. Information will only be shared with those who need to know to effectively address the situation.

Prevention and Education

We are committed to preventing abuse through education and awareness. This includes training our staff and contributors on recognizing and responding to abuse, as well as providing resources and information to our community.
